I,m sure you are all wondering about her! She has been named IHRP Arial ( which actually means Gods Lion!)
Ariel is doing well considering her awful start in life! She is only a year old, and was getting the mother of all beatings, late at night, on a main street in Kilkenny! She was being made to pull a sulky, but she was not strong enough! The fact that she had a full set of shoes on her baby feet meant she couldn,t even get a grip on the wet road, and was beaten all the more! But we are confident that the brute who nearly killed Arial will be brought to justice!
Arial was then sent to the pound to face a certain death. IHRP had a plea for help from a member of the public and we secured the release of the filly after a few nail biting days! It is always at the discretion of the Local Authority if they will release for rehoming!
Arial wasn,t strong enough to travel up the country to our centre after her ordeal, so she spent a few days locally with our dear friend who gave her loads of TLC! She arrived into the Irish Horse Rehoming Programme last week, and is holding her own! As you can see from the pics, she is rubbed sore across her front and back legs from the harness leg straps and she has a wound on her hind fetlock, where she clipped herself with the shoe trying to pull the sulky with a fairly big man on it!
This little girl won,t be ready for rehoming for quite a while, so if you you would like to contribute towards her care and support our work here in IHRP, please click on the link below which will bring you to our paypal
