IHRP HAS RECEIVED CHARITABLE STATUS !!!!!
The decision to apply was not taken lightly, It was actually done 2 years ago (but Carrie got sick in the middle and everything got put on hold) and it has been a lot of work ( well- paperwork- but thats harder for us than mucking out the yard!) but for us to provide the best possible care for the horses and ponies in the programme, it was the best option.
After IHRP was set up in 2014, It has run as a non profit organisation. We have relied on the adoption donations, on the very generous support of our supporters (when our back was to the wall and we put out a plea) and the kind support of the Department of Agriculture. But it was always a hand to mouth stressful situation. The saddest time I think in the last few years was having to say no to a recent plea to save a group of horses- the funds just were not there.
With this new status, we can now directly fundraise- with many different options to do so- watch this space !! We have a smashing team of trustees, and loads of ideas. Over the coming weeks we will be putting a fundraising pack together- so if you have any ideas and want to run something- please get in touch!
