Rehoming & InformationInformation and Explanation on Rehoming an Equine from IHRP
The IHRP rescues Equines intended for slaughter in Irish pounds. We then rehabilitate and rehome Equines to a permanent home. We take great care that any Equine rehomed by us is in good health. It will be vetted, treated for worms, receive farrier attention (where required) and have its teeth checked. By the time an Equine is fit to go to a new home a considerable amount of time and money has been invested in it. IHRP is slightly different from other organisations as once you have agreed to take on an Equine, it is placed in your ownership, with your name recorded on the passport. So we request that the applicant make a donation for rehoming an Equine, minimum requested is €250 for a small pony. In the event you no longer wish to keep that Equine, please be advised that you must change the details on the passport to reflect the details of the new owner and notify IHRP of same.
